2006-2009INTRODUCTION
To date, Russian State Medical University [RSMU] has approximately 500 Malaysian students & the number is increasing yearly, corresponding to the nation's requirement for skilled doctors. The number is made up of MARA, JPA and MINDEF scholars, as well as privately funded students.
The idea of MASSAD 09 came to be to fulfill the need of a memorable annual event to allow students to gather and celebrate the culmination of the academic year.
WHAT IS MASSAD-RSMU?
MASSAD-RSMU stands for Malaysian Students' Annual Dinner - Russian State Medical University. It is an annual dinner to gather all RSMU Malaysian undergrads in a night of social get-together, performances & dinner.
Although the event mainly consists of students as the biggest party, we are looking forward to organize this event for the entire Malaysian community in RSMU.
BACKGROUND
This event is organized by a non-profit organization in cooperation with Russian Malaysian Student Association, RMSA [RSMU], Kelab UMNO Moscow [KuMOSC] & Embassy of Malaysia [Moscow].
The first MASSAD was held in May 2006. Its success prompted the initiative to organize the event annually. Organizing this event is another challenge that we must endure especially the language barrier & the high cost living in Russia. However, we are hoping that this event will benefit to all parties that are involved.
